Wipro lands seven-year data centre and cloud services contract
Company is in charge of twin data centres in Germany as European customers focuses on consolidating its IT infrastructure.
One of India’s largest ICT companies Wipro has been tasked with managing European energy company innogy SE’s data centre and cloud services.
As part of the agreement signed in November 2016, innogy transferred its twin data centres in Neurath und Niederaussen in Germany to Wipro on February 1, 2017.
Wipro will make use of its BoundaryLess Data Center solution, designed to help customers rationalise, virtualise and consolidate their IT infrastructure.
Marcus Schaper, CIO innogy SE, said: “This engagement is strategic to our IT operations. We believe that Wipro is the best partner for us to accompany us on our IT journey around data centre services. Therefore, we have not only signed a contract in Germany but also have extended our contract with Wipro in the UK until 2024.”
