vXchnge strikes widescale Azure ExpressRoute connectivity deal

Enhanced colocation services require reliable, secure and fast connectivity to the industry’s in-demand products and services to support true hybrid capabilities, and the company believes it has found that with this deal.

Colocation services provider vXchnge has announced the availability of Microsoft Azure ExpressRoute in its Austin, Minneapolis, Philadelphia, Santa Clara and St. Louis data centres. vXchnge customers can now leverage the interconnection offerings by privately connecting through a provider like Megaport, for instance, to Microsoft Azure, Office 365, Dynamics 365 and other solutions.

As a neutral interconnection provider, vXchnge provides private and on-demand provisioning for hybrid infrastructure platforms. By integrating Azure ExpressRoute with a network service, customers can establish private high-throughput connections into Azure and other key industry technologies that bypass the public internet.

“Flexibility in hybrid and multi-cloud solutions is increasingly a requirement among our customers, and private connectivity to Azure ExpressRoute enables this,” said Ernest Sampera, CMO of vXchnge. “Utilising vXchnge as a data centre platform, users of Azure ExpressRoute can now provision secure, reliable cloud connections to complement their hybrid digital transformations with speed and agility.”

Last year, the Tampa, Florida-headquartered company acquired its 100,000 square feet Austin data centre. The company said at the time that the site will help it expand its footprint in a hyper-growth market, as the facility has the capacity to grow to 26MW of power. The Austin facility was already undergoing a doubling of its capacity to support near-term demand.
