Telehouse launches multi-cloud connectivity exchange with Microsoft Azure ExpressRoute
More cloud providers to be added in the near future as provider aims at $148bn cloud service economy driven by enterprise demand.
Global colocation provider Telehouse has launched a multi-cloud connectivity exchange through the integration of Microsoft ExpressRoute into its London Docklands campus.
The Telehouse Cloud Link exchange has been designed to allow customers to link to multiple cloud service providers through private connections and simplify their overall hybrid cloud infrastructure.
Cloud Link will allow users to also procure and manage connections in real time through the exchange’s online portal.
Readying for launch in April 2017 from the London hub, the company said further regions and data centres will be added to the program as well as other cloud providers beyond Microsoft.
Connections through Cloud Link are fully redundant, with switches being connected and routed diversely back to ethernet core network where the customer can have dual homed connection.
Cloud Link’s security is assured over a private link whereby the connection to CSP is based upon VLAN (Virtual Local Area Network) over the secure and private network.
Telehouse Cloud Link has monthly recurring charges depending on customer’s requested bandwidth.
Michelle Reid, sales and marketing director of Telehouse Europe, said: “We are delighted to support the rapid growth in enterprise cloud adoption with our new Cloud Link service and to collaborate with Microsoft to deliver its cloud connectivity service to our customers via a secure, private connection.”
Telehouse’s Cloud Link launch comes at a time when business demand for private connections to the cloud that allow the enterprise to scale are on the rise.
That was show by a recent report that has found that the rapid adoption of cloud services worldwide has driven the market to grow 25% year-on-year and to reach $148bn in operator and vendor revenues in 2016.
Ross Ortega, Partner PM, Microsoft Azure at Microsoft, said: “The cloud is driving transformation through new business models, global expansion and accelerated innovation.”
