T5 Data Centers lined up for $800m acquisition – report
Deal could be announced as early as this week but still has some critical steps that needs to go through.
US data centre services provider T5 Data Centers is reportedly on the verge of being acquired by Australian bank Macquarie Group in a transaction worth $800m.
Speaking to Bloomberg, sources familiar with the matter said the M&A could also be announced as soon as this week.
The people familiar with the matter added the acquisition still has to go through the Committee on Foreign Investment in the US, with talks currently underway and a deal yet to be reached.
The investment into buy T5 is made through cash coming out Macquarie Capital, Macquarie Group’s advisory and principal investing arm.
T5’s portfolio covers mostly the US, however, the company also has a presence in Europe, with a facility in Ireland.
In North America, T5 operates data centre facilities in Atlanta, Los Angeles, Dallas, Portland, Charlotte, Chicago, New York and Colorado.
