Oracle’s Netsuite to more than double global data centre fleet
Company leaves no stone unturned and eyes the Americas, Europe, APAC and Africa in a worldwide business roadmap sitting on Oracle’s assets.
Financial services cloud provider NetSuite Global Business, part of Oracle, has unveiled ambitious expansion plans across the whole portfolio.
The company has announced at Suiteworld 2017 in Las Vegas, Nevada, the construction of six new data centres, and the opening of several offices and development centres.
In addition, the provider has promised to expand its product suite and broaden its partner network.
On the data centre space, Oracle NetSuite Global Business Unit plans to more than double its data centre footprint from five data centres globally to 11.
NetSuite currently operates three facilities in North America, one in Amsterdam, Netherlands and one in Dublin, Ireland. NetSuite expects to add a fourth North American data centre in Chicago.
The company explained that as part of the global expansion plans, NetSuite will leverage existing Oracle data centres in Europe and Asia.
In Europe, NetSuite is scheduled to open a data centre in Frankfurt, Germany to “remedy the lack of modern cloud computing offerings in the country,” the provider said in a statement.
In Asia Pacific, NetSuite plans to initially launch facilities in Australia and Singapore, followed by Japan and China.
In terms of offices, Netsuite is planning to grow its presence from ten to 23 countries, establishing a new presence in Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Chile, Mexico, France, Germany, Sweden, Dubai, China, India, Malaysia and New Zealand.
Lastly, Oracle NetSuite Global Business Unit is to use existing Oracle development centres across India, China and Japan.
