NexGen turns to Interxion to serve French financial businesses
Company establishes PoP to create direct access to cloud providers such as Amazon Web Services and Microsoft Azure.
Provider of fibre optic-based network solutions NexGen Networks has chosen Interxion’s Paris data centre campus to extend its private cloud direct connect service in France.
This will be the company’s second point of presence (POP) in Europe as demands from customers from financial services firms and global enterprises soar.
The PoP provides direct private access to cloud providers such as Amazon Web Services and Microsoft Azure.
In addition, the Paris POP serves as a connectivity backbone for NexGen to expand its network activities in continental Europe.
NexGen’s first PoP sits in Interxion’s London data centre campus.
Jeffrey Barth, VP at NexGen, said: “This new POP in Paris is a strategic move for NexGen as we aim to drive more customer engagement with cloud direct connect service in France. Interxion Paris is a high-quality network-neutral data centre campus and is now our Continental Europe hub of choice.
“The Paris campus is a perfect location, putting us in proximity to our business partners and the financial community. Its low-latency access to key cloud platforms is very important to us as we continue to pursue our expansion.”
Fabrice Coquio, France Managing Director at Interxion, said: “NexGen’s presence in our Paris campus and adoption of Cloud Connect, our cloud access service, will enable them to benefit from a low latency access to cloud service providers and to grow their operational network in Europe. Synergies in our customer base make this cooperation a fruitful one for both companies.”
