Juniper Networks ups data center game with Unite cloud bet
Company wants to change how enterprises manage their public, private, hybrid and multi-cloud data centre environments.
Juniper Networks has introduced Unite Cloud, a data centre framework aimed at simplifying hybrid and multi-cloud environments.
As cloud deployments and their management complexity increase, the networking company is seeking to set some bases on how enterprises work their cloud environments with the required building blocks to manage public, private, hybrid and multi-cloud environments, scale with evolving business needs and support the deployment of new applications, services and technologies.
The Unite Cloud framework has been unveiled as part of the Juniper Networks’ Juniper Unite architecture built to be used in the data centre and network infrastructure.
Unite Cloud has been designed to include an enhanced Junos Space Network Director management application that leverages advanced automation to analyse and control data centres.
This includes the ability to configure and visualise multiple data centres through a single pane of glass, “relieving network administrators from performing manual provisioning and configuration”.
Furthermore, it offer controller-less network virtualisation to automate the building and management for overlay fabrics on top of layer three fabrics, utilising Ethernet VPN (EVPN) control plane and Virtual Extensible LAN (VXLAN) overlay.
Unite Cloud also contains Juniper Networks QFX5110 switch with 100 Gigabit (GB) capabilities to scale with evolving bandwidth demands, and the Juniper Networks Contrail JumpStart service offerings built to allow enterprises to deploy technologies at lower risk.
Denise Shiffman, senior vice president, Juniper Development and Innovation, Juniper Networks, said: “The move to hybrid, multi-cloud IT is accelerating with workloads migrating to cloud data centres at lightspeed. Enterprises require agility and elasticity for applications or services to be spun up quickly and managed efficiently and securely with limited resources.
“With the solutions announced today, Juniper is changing the landscape for IT leaders who are in search of open, automated and secure solutions to deploy hybrid cloud environments.”
