  • The Linux Foundation appoints Vapor IO CEO to LF Edge Governing Board

The Linux Foundation has appointed Cole Crawford, founder and CEO of Vapor IO, as an LF Edge General Member Board Representative. LF Edge is an umbrella organisation within The Linux Foundation working to stablish open, interoperable frameworks for edge computing independent of hardware, silicon, cloud or operating system.

  • Sungard AS appoints new CEO

Sungard AS has announced the appointment of Michael K. Robinson as the company’s new Chief Executive Officer. Robinson will succeed Andrew A. Stern, who served as CEO of the company for nine years. Robinson most recently served as CEO, President and a Member of the Board of Directors for Broadview Networks.

  • Colt expands its leadership team with appointment of new EVP HR

Colt Technology Services has announced the appointment of Melanie Halsey as the EVP – Human Resources, reporting to Carl Grivner, Colt’s CEO and joining the companies’ Executive Leadership Team. Halsey will be responsible for driving Colt’s people strategy across its global organisation, overseeing the attraction, retention and development of talent in the industry.

  • Sage expands leadership team with appointment of Aaron Harris as CTO

Cloud business management solutions Sage has appointed Aaron Harris to the role of Chief Technology Officer. He joins the Sage Executive Committee after two decades leading SaaS technology at Sage Intacct, and will report to the company’s CEO Steve Hare as part of his Executive Committee.

  • Rackspace appoints Kevin Jones as Chief Executive Officer

Cloud computing company Rackspace has announced the appointment of Kevin M. Jones as Chief Executive Officer. He most recently served as Chief Executive Officer of MV Transportation, Inc, and he succeeds Joe Eazor. As CEO of Rackspace, Jones will be responsible for the company’s global strategy and operations, spanning the U.S. and the four other continents where Rackspace maintains offices and data centres.

  • SAP cloud king resigns, in comes the cloud queen

SAP’s cloud chief has resigned from the company to “pursue an external opportunity”. Executive board member and president of the Cloud Business Group Rober t Enslin is to be replaced by executive board member Jennifer Morgan. In addition, executive board member Adaire Fox-Martin will take sole responsibility of Global Customer Operations (GCO) as president, a role he previously shared with Morgan.

  • Industry expert strengthens the board of Data Center Group Plc

Data Center Group (DCG) PLC has announced that Gerd Simon, an internationally known senior data centre specialist, joins the company as Managing Director. With a background in engineering and management, he will be responsible for marketing, sales and finance and jointly responsible for the strategic development of the company.

  • CBRE brings in Metzger to run new data centre investment arm

Global property investment and management firm CBRE Capital Markets has launched its data centres specialty practice for investors. It will be headed by Kristina Metzger, who has been promoted to senior vice president to run the operation. The move is part CBRE Capital Markets’ continued investment in alternative property types to provide integrated services across three primary lines of business – investment sales, finance and investment banking.
