Ex-Bank of America, Telstra and Global Switch employee takes helm of data centre player Migsolv as CEO

Current CEO Alex Rabbetts to step down on December 9 after being in the company for nearly 15 years.

British data centre operator Migsolv has appointed its current operations director as its new CEO as the company seeks to strengthen its position in the fast-changing digital age.

David Manning will be taking over Alex Rabbetts who is stepping down on December 9.

The company said in a statement that the the process for a smooth and orderly handover has been completed and David Manning, Migsolv’s operations director, “will take over the helm”.

Manning has 25 years’ experience of data centre environments, having been involved in the design build and operation of facilities across Europe and beyond.

Before joining Migsolv in April 2010, he was the managing director at JLM Consultancy, implementation and hosting director at Telstra Europe, operations director at PSINet, and operations manager at data centre provider Global Switch.

He has also server as principal consultant for Capgemini and worked on the European Telecoms Group at the Bank of America.

As operations director of Migsolv, Manning has been responsible for overseeing the service desk at the Gatehouse Data Centre, in Norwich, and the facility management team..

He also manages the consultancy team which undertakes data centre assignments worldwide.

John Herring, Chairman of the Board at MIGSOLV, has spoken out on behalf of the company’s board, to thank Rabbetts for his service as chief executive of the company.

He said: “He has led the business through its growth from a small niche consultancy to being an operator of a world class data centre providing exceptional customer service.

“He leaves the business with a good foundation for its future growth.”

Alex Rabbetts said: “It has been immensely rewarding and a privilege taking Migsolv from a start-up 15 years ago to becoming a significant data centre operator today.

“Now is the time for me to return to my consulting roots and to contribute to the next stage of the evolution of the industry. I am confident that David will do a fantastic job of leading the team after I leave.”
