Cisco expert joins Colt to help drive $500m network roadmap



Operator seeks to bring together data centre networking scale and performance, with global fibre footprint.

Colt Technology Services has expanded its team for the network organisation with the appointment of Randolph Nicklas who is acting now as VP Network Engineering.

Nicklas is to report directly to Chief Technology Officer at Colt, Rajiv Datta, and has beem tasked with being responsible for driving technology innovation across the Colt IQ Network as part of Colt’s €500m, three-year investment plan.

Nicklas will take on the strategy and architecture planning, solution design and implementation, and asset management across all of Colt’s network platforms, including optical, packet and voice services.

Prior to joining Colt, Nicklas was an engineer and executive at brands including Cisco, MCI, XO Communications and Windstream Communications amongst others.

Nicklas said: “Colt’s history of developing and deploying new network technologies, as well as its significant network investments all over the world, makes it an exciting time to join the company.
